Puglia is the Italy most tourists never find. No crowds, no overpriced spritz, no English menus. This chapter is for slowing down, eating a lot and enjoying the nature. We picked a traditional masseria in the countryside near Putignano. You'll work during the day with proper Wi-Fi, cook together at night, and spend your weekends exploring trulli villages, cliff-jumping in Polignano a Mare, and getting lost in the streets of Ostuni.

Juls and Fabio are Casa Basilico’s co-founders, and they’ll be living at the masseria with you for Puglia’s first month. They met at a coliving in Madeira in 2022: Juls was the community manager, and Fabio was the late-arriving guest who started cooking for the house.

Juls is the ideas-and-people half of Casa Basilico. She looks after the community, plans the weekends and keeps everyone connected, usually while dreaming up the next adventure before the current one has finished.

Fabio is the Italian behind the shared table. He cooks, handles the practical and technical details, and has never seen a plate that could not use a little more cheese.

ARRIVAL INFO
By train or bus: Head to Bari Centrale, then take a train or the Trulli Link bus to Putignano. The bus is faster (50 min) but less frequent; trains run more often but take around 1h20–1h30. Check schedules on Trenitalia. By plane: Fly into Bari Airport, then get to Bari Centrale by shuttle (Tempesta Autoservizi, 30 min, €5) or train (Ferrotramviaria, 20 min, €5.30). From there, follow the instructions above.From Putignano to the masseria: We will pick you up!
